Kent-Sussex Industries, Inc. (KSI), Milford, DE

Kent-Sussex Industries, Inc. (KSI) has been serving Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware since 1962.  The mission of KSI is to assist people with disabilities in the pursuit of their potential in employment and meaningful participation in their communities.

The services we provide help disabled individuals earn a paycheck by working on community work site crews or on business services production lines in our facility.  The people we serve also become more independent while learning vocational and other life skills taught in our training areas when not on paid work.   One of our work crews employs 6 disabled people by remanufacturing laser printer, copier and fax toner cartridges.  During our weekly delivery and pick up of empties, we also receive empty inkjet cartridges.  We were able to incorporate Empties 4 Cash’s Fundraising Program into our recycling efforts very easily, providing additional employment for another person.

Our participants are contributing members in their community.  Many of them volunteer in our community at the local food bank, cleaning up a local non-profit nature center, they volunteer at local churches, animal shelters, and more.

KSI provides daily support to nearly 300 people with disabilities.  We operate a fleet of vehicles and travel over 1 million miles every year.  Our vehicles pick up individuals with disabilities at their home and take them to and from work every day, and to volunteer sites.  Our facility participants enjoy a healthy breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack Monday – Friday every week, at no cost to them.

We are a 501c3 non-profit agency.  To learn more about KSI, visit our website at www.ksiinc.org or call our office at 302-422-4014.  Tours of our Milford facility are available by contacting Alicia Hollis at extension 3015.  To learn about our business services opportunities, contact Mark Reeve at extension 3019.
